Warmer Alaska

This is the beaver lake trail we took Ryan's parents on when they came down for graduation. Wet but pretty! I loved the look of these logs.

The whale park is cool! I actually spotted whales there!

This is also the whale park, they have these cool boardwalks down to the water.

Its been pretty warm here for Alaska, no freezing temperatures which means no snow, its nice. But if it did freeze I would not want to be here because these driveways and some roads are super steep, something I've only seen in California. Its not right! In fact I live up on this big hill with a steep driveway but the nice thing is that my apartment is on a cliff overlooking the bay, I thought you'd all enjoy a looksy so here it is. This is what I see everyday sitting on my couch (futon), cool huh?

Super Sitka

So Cindy and I have been working on these advent calendars made from mini tart pans. How awesome is that? I just finished mine and am posting them for you Cindy. Now I wanna see yours! hehe I'll be placing candy or something inside the tin. I didnt bring the actual tin with me to Sitka for obvious reasons.

Now this a pic of Ryan in uniform at his graduation, the guys had a choice of waiting for someone special to put their pins on after the ceremony, and he had me his wife administer the badge. What an honor! THANKS BABE!! Oh, and sorry Cindy, this is the only picture where we're all facing the camera and smiling, when I get home I'll edit your eyes open.

He got to ring the victory bell or so I call it, it doesnt actually have a cool name, ok ok, Ryan says "It does have a name, its the officer's bell... or the memorial bell or something..." then he trailed off so I'm guessing it doesnt really have a name, dont tell him. But I do have to say he looked super hot in his uniform and I'm sure he looks even hotter with his gun belt on.

Sitka Delight

I was able to visit Ryan for what I like to call a conjugal weekend visit. It was spendid! He took me to this awesome Sushi place, who would have known Sitka of all places has a gourmet sushi restaurant. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Well, as you can imagine we didnt stop much to take pics .... there are a couple good ones but their with Ryan so I'll have to talk him into posting them for me.
This is called the Dragon Roll! So yummy!!
The rain actually let up for a bit so we could walk around town, I stopped in at the chocolate store and bought an over-priced fatty snack. I couldnt actually eat it because I was holding off for the perfect moment that I would enjoy it the most, that moment ended up being the day after I got home when I got to thinking about how long it would be till I see Ryan again, I was depressed and the chocolate helped. So glad I saved it!!

My FREE Sitka Apt.

This is the awesome apartment I will be housesitting when I go to Sitka. Oh, did I mention its FREE, I'm actually cat-sitting so I cant say its totally free. But the cat (bree) and I should get along just great, I'll be the best kitty-sitter ever!!!
